Rebecca
Rebecca was born in Illinois, lived in Ohio, and has lived the majority of her life in Murphy, TX. She is the oldest of four with two sisters, Megan and Sarah, and one brother, Jacob. She is a 2004 graduate of Plano East Senior High and a 2008 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science. Her major was biology with a zoology emphasis and a minor in animal science. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Professional Agriculture Sorority. In the future, Rebecca would like to earn a Master’s degree in conservation biology and possibly go into environmental law.
She has two cats, Petey and Tinkerbelle and one Shih Tzu/Pit bull/Pointer mix, Suki. She has had all sorts of pets in the past including rabbits, reptiles, guinea pigs, fish, hamsters, and gerbils. Animals have always been a large part of who she is, and she loves being around them.
In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends and family, loves to sing and enjoys reading. Rebecca is also a research volunteer at the Dallas Zoo and is currently working on behavioral observations of African elephants.
ALEX
Alex was born February of 1988 in Orlando, Florida. A few years later he moved with his family to Plano. He currently lives with his girlfriend Pamela, daughter Lillian Claire, and three cats, Buddha, Jagger, and Phoenix. Ever since he was young, Alex was fascinated and inspired by his father’s piano and guitar playing. This exposure sparked his lifelong passion of making music and molded him into the musician he is today.
Alex graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2006 and less than twenty-four hours after his graduation he was on his way to Portland, OR to start the first day of his first band tour. Alex was given the opportunity to be a full time touring musician for two and a half years in a signed band. During this time, Alex worked part-time at an animal hospital and has worked with animals ever since. Anything from attempting to trade his sister for a cat, to saving mice from pet store snakes, Alex has always had a huge heart for every animal. He feels truly lucky that he is following both of his passions, music and helping animals.
Currently, Alex is a co-writer and guitarist for the rock band American Mantra. He also teaches guitar, bass and piano, is the owner of a Dallas based booking agency, The Aquarius Agency, and has been dubbed “the cat lady” at BPAH as he adopted 2 cats within two weeks of working here!
Cassandra
Cassy grew up in Richardson, after moving from New York at the age of six. She never went very long without an animal growing up, but never thought to pursue a profession in veterinary medicine. In 2008 she graduated from Berkner High School, but wasn’t sure what the future held. It was her mother who sent an email to her about a job posting at BPAH and the rest as they say is history. In 2011, she graduated from Cedar Valley College with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She loves to spend time with friends and family, especially her twin nieces, Rose and Amber. In her spare time, she likes to curl up on the couch surrounded by her four-legged children Sunni, Candy and Commander, with their permission of course!
